Course Description

The course “Consensual Entanglements: Navigating Ethical Non-monogamy in practice” delves into the world of ethical non-monogamy(ENM). This course explores the principles, challenges, and rewards of ENM relationships. This course is designed for mental health professionals seeking to gain a better understanding of this alternative relationship structure and how they support clients who are interested or currently practicing the lifestyle. 


This training defines various types of non-monogamous relationships including polyamory, open relationships, swinging etc. This course also highlights how those interested or living the lifestyle can have healthy relationships. 

This is a beginner’s level course and there are no specific prerequisites for this course. The course is open to mental health professionals, students, and individuals interested in gaining knowledge on how to support those navigating ENM relationships.

Lead Trainer Alexis Frederick-Bouy, MA

Alexis Frederick-Bouy, is a Sexologist and Mental health Therapist. Alexis’ educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Bloomsburg University, a Master of Arts in Community Psychology and Social Change from Pennsylvania State University, and a Master of Education in Human Sexuality Studies from Widener University. She served the mental health community for over ten years focusing on family dynamics emphasizing attachment, communication, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and resource building. Alexis' passion is to educate and empower individuals to live a fulfilling life by challenging survival thinking and living patterns and replacing them with thriving patterns. Alexis is a wife and mother of two. Alexis is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
