Course Description

This course is designed to benefit creative minded clinicians who aim to expand their clinical interventions, while practicing ethically within their skills and expertise. This course includes a definition of music therapy,as well as the different types of music therapy interventions. Each music therapy intervention type will be defined and illustrated with an experiential. The course will conclude with two short case samples, to demonstrate how the interventions can be applied throughout the course of treatment.

Session Learning Objectives

•To demonstrate that you gained an understanding of the music therapy definition

•To demonstrate you can identify the different types of music therapy interventions

•Highlight a clear understanding of music as therapy vs. music in therapy, promoting ethical implementations of interventions 

•To demonstrate understanding of general music driven interventions you can safely implement in your clinical practice.

•To demonstrate the importance of making music together as a group, demonstrating a short moment of practical use of music to promote a sense of community in groups.

Course is a self-paced learning experience which includes a recorded training, powerpoint, closing sample activity, quiz and evaluation. all which must be completed to recieve certificate. This course is non-interactive.
